Aunt Judy and Uncle Bill Visit

This morning we got a call from Aunt Judy and Uncle Bill. They were on their way back from the Buckwheat festival, and they stopped in to see how big Sam has gotten.

Bill encouraged a few smiles from Sam....

...And Aunt Judy encouraged something a bit smellier from Sam. :>)

Thanks for stopping to see us! We love you all!

Chilling with G'ma and G'pa

Sam loves to hang out with grandparents. This past weekend, G'ma and G'pa Meads stopped by for a baby fix. I had a pot luck dinner at our place on Friday for all the Science and Technology people at FSU, and somehow I convinced Mom and Dad to come....with cake and casserole in hand. WOW....not bad huh?!?!?

Sam snuggled and talked a bit with G'ma and G'pa. I think that maybe they were trying to make a Sam sandwich.

G'ma fed Sam a little snack and then he crashed for a nap.

Sam loves to hang out in his Winnie the Pooh bouncie seat. I caught him chilling in the seat with his foot up on the bar.

Momma's #33

Thanks to Sam, I got flowers for my birthday. Jeff said that Sam told him that he wanted to send Mommy flowers. They are still beautiful! Thanks babes!

On my birthday, I took my biology lab out to make collections at Prickett's Creek. The class is working on a stream ecology paper and we collected different pieces of data regarding the stream....including lots of insects living in the water there. Luckily, everyone seemed to stay mostly dry.

That evening I got to see Momma and Papa Sal. (It is always great to see them!) Natalie, Braedyn and I went to a breastfeeding group. The ladies there were really great.

Also on Tuesday, I snuck by and saw Baby Luke. He is so beautiful! Here he is at 4 days old! Cris and Melissa, you all did so well! :>)

Dinner and some Bocci Ball

Two weeks ago, the McGee crew came over for dinner. We ate, talked, and then had a bocci ball game. Jeff and I played Colton and his friend Chase. The teams were tough.....or at least they attempted to look tough for the camera. (The pictures are a bit fuzzy because it was jsut starting to get dark outside.)

Maybe next time when you all come over we will give you a chance to steal the bocci ball trophey. :>)

Heaven, Wilsee, and Evelyn cuddled Sam up, and he ate the attention up.

In fact, by the end of the evening, Sam was worn out. He fell asleep while Jeff was holding him up. Baby Sam played hard that day! :>)

Rudy loves Sam

(I am going to try and play catch up here.....I get so behind with working.)

Jeff and I were outside last week planting 2 mums that I bought. Sam was hanging out with us in his jogging stroller...(Thanks Chris, Rosana, and Vitaly! We really putting it to use!) I looked over and saw that Rudy was looking at Sam in his stroller and wagging up a storm.

I realized then that Rudy had placed his ball on Sam's lap and was patiently waiting for Sam to throw it so he could chase it. :>)

The ball would sometimes roll off his lap when he got to kicking and fall to the ground where Rudy would pick it up and return it to Sam. They seemed to both enjoy this game of roll. :>)

Welcome Baby Luke!

We would like to welcome Baby Luke Larzo! He arrived on Saturday at 2:01 AM. Momma did a fine job of delivery this little one. (And I am sure Daddy was cheering nonstop!) Luke is going to be a punctual guy since he arrived ON his due date. How often does that really happen?
Luke is 19.5 inches inches long and 7 pounds and 8 ounces of muscle.

CONGRATS! We can't wait to meet him!

Sam's 2nd Football game

Sam went to his second Mountaineer game all pumped up. WVU vs Eastern Washington....and we of course had a great game.

Sam got a new little tailgating chair that he could sit in and bat around his danglie puppy and kitty. He seemed to really like the tailgating.

We met the Larzos for the tailgate. Baby Larzo is still incubating and hasn't made his appearance. I can't wait to meet him! Sam was trying to get to know Baby Larzo by perching on top of Mama Larzo's beautiful belly. (Sam is looking pretty serious here!)

At the game, we ran into our friend Rachel who goes to medical school at WVU. (She is going to make such a great physician...the kind you want....caring and really smart!)

Sam and his jealous dog

I have told you all about how the dogs now are not the center of attention anymore since Sam has come into the world. Georgia and Rudy are both very needy dogs and they run to you if you don't have "that baby". This is pretty apparent and they demand attention by throwing themselves at anyone not holding "that baby". Well, Gerogia has finally made up with Sam. When Sam was laying on the floor the other night, Georgia laid down and put her head on him.

I think that she was really hoping that he would be able to scratch her and love her all up.

Soon Georgia...once Sam is more mobile, he will be loving you so much and that you will be running the other direction very fast.
Sam even got a few kisses from Gerogia up the side of his head. AHHHHHH....there is nothing cuter than puppy love! :>)

The Wonderful Hinkles

We have really super neighbors. The other day, Becky brought over some really delicious lasagna. I LOVED it ...and so did Sam secondhand.

Becky is such a great mom to her two kids. Sam had to try out her momma arms too..

Thanks so much Becky and Brad. You all are so thoughtful! :>)

What would you do for a baby smile?

ANYTHING! Sam is interacting more and more each day and smiling more often. We really would do anything to get a smile from that little fat guy!

(OK...we call him fat all the time and G'ma Dodson keeps saying that he is going to get a complex. It will be just one of those MANY things in his life growing up with us that he will have to see a psychologist about!*chuckle*)

He is reaching for things and discovering more about the world around him.

Velva and Timmy visit

This week Velva must not have gotten enough of Sam. She and her husband Timmy stopped by on Sunday. I don't see why she misses this fat little baby. :>) You would think that he would have worn her out during the week with only taking little cat naps, DEMANDING that she carry him around ALL the time, and having to feed him so much. (Last Tuesday, he ate 27 ozs while I was at work!)

Sam has really taken to her and she is so good at taking care of him. He defintely doesn't lack for kisses between Velva and us. :>) We are so lucky to have found her!

Thanks you all for stopping by and visiting with us. :>)

Aunt Jessie and Uncle Brian Visit

This weekend, Aunt Jessie, Uncle Brian, and G'ma Dodson came to visit. This was the 1st time that Sam met his aunt and uncle.

Aunt Jessie has the "baby touch" and easily put little Sam to sleep by holding him and rocking. It was so great to see them. (Jessie is so photogenic!)

On Sunday, Jeff and Brian played golf. The girls (and Sam!) went to the Italian Heritage Festival and saw The Shagra Las. (They sang "Leader of the Pack" and "Remember Walking in the Sand".) It was a lot of fun. (The guys in the picture were volunteers from the audience that sang and danced to "Do Wha Diddy Diddy dum diddy do".)

G'ma had some cuddle time too with Sam.

On Labor Day, we all went out to eat at the hibachi restaurant. As you can see in the picture, Brian became a wiz at using chopsticks.

Thanks for coming to visit and cuddling up the fat little man! :>) Love you all!
